Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to all users of the ImmerseMe service and supplements the Terms of Use, AI Terms of Use and any applicable institutional agreement.

1. General Rule

Use ImmerseMe only for lawful, authorized educational or related service purposes and in a manner that does not harm users, institutions, third parties or the service.

2. Account and Access Security

You must not:

• access another person's account without authorization;
• share credentials in a way that defeats account controls;
• attempt to bypass authentication, authorization, rate limits or security controls;
• probe, scan or test the service for vulnerabilities without prior written authorization; or
• interfere with logging, monitoring or protective controls.

Institution-authorized security testing may be permitted only under an agreed written scope, timing, rules of engagement and safeguards.

3. Malicious or Disruptive Activity

You must not:

• introduce malware, ransomware, malicious code or harmful payloads;
• perform denial-of-service activity or intentionally overload the service;
• scrape, crawl or automate access in a manner that disrupts the service or violates applicable rights;
• reverse engineer or exploit the service except where law expressly permits and such rights cannot be waived; or
• use the service to compromise another system, device or account.

4. Harmful or Unlawful Content

You must not use ImmerseMe to create, upload, share or request content that:

• is unlawful;
• sexually exploits or abuses minors;
• credibly threatens violence or facilitates serious wrongdoing;
• harasses, bullies or targets another person for abuse;
• promotes or facilitates self-harm in a manner creating a safety risk;
• unlawfully discriminates against protected groups;
• violates intellectual-property, privacy or confidentiality rights; or
• contains another person's sensitive information without appropriate authorization.

5. Student and School Use

Users must comply with school/district rules and teacher instructions when using school-managed accounts.

Users must not use ImmerseMe to access, alter or disclose another student's records without authorization, or to defeat school-imposed account, classroom or safety controls.

6. AI Use

When using AI-powered features, users must also comply with the AI Terms of Use.

Users must not attempt to manipulate AI features to generate prohibited content, reveal system prompts/secrets, bypass moderation, conduct malicious prompt injection or obtain unauthorized access to data or systems.

Users should avoid providing unnecessary personal, confidential or sensitive information in free-form AI conversations.

7. Privacy and Personal Data

You must not use ImmerseMe to collect, upload or disclose personal information in violation of applicable law, institutional policy or another person's rights.

Credentials, API keys, secrets, payment-card details, highly sensitive health information and other unnecessary sensitive information should not be entered into free-form fields or AI conversations.

8. Intellectual Property

You must only upload or submit content that you have the right to use. You must not use ImmerseMe to infringe copyright, trademark or other intellectual-property rights.

9. Impersonation and Fraud

You must not impersonate another person or organization in a deceptive manner, falsify identity or account information, use the service for phishing or fraud, or misrepresent AI-generated content as authentic evidence where doing so could deceive or harm others.

10. Automation and Bulk Use

Automated access, bots, scripts, bulk extraction or integrations are allowed only where expressly supported, authorized by ImmerseMe or agreed with the relevant institution.

11. Reporting Misuse

Suspected abuse, security issues, harmful content or policy violations may be reported to hello@immerseme.com.

12. Enforcement

ImmerseMe may investigate suspected violations and may restrict, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users, institutions, data, systems or legal compliance.

Where appropriate, we may work with the relevant school/institution before taking action against a school-managed user. Serious unlawful activity may be escalated where required by law.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP as the service, risks or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date will be revised and additional notice provided where required.
