We've just released a new learning mode which allows for totally open-ended conversation practise! 👏
Each lesson has a Conversation mode (BETA) which is a free-flowing dynamic conversation between the student and the AI.
Instructions

Click Start Lesson from the lesson script page (either at the top or on the right side). For our example, we're in French > Bakery > Buying a loaf of bread (Acheter du pain).

Navigate through the Game Settings. Under Game Mode, select Conversation (BETA) then click Play!.

Read through the ChatGPT Terms and Conditions. Click Accept to acknowledge and proceed.

The lesson starts with the ImmerseMe AI introducing themselves and asking you a question in text format. To listen to the audio, click the play icon above the prompt.

Click the gear icon to toggle the audio's Talking Speed and the text's Language. In the example below, if you toggle to English, the text will show an English translation.
Click the information icon to see the Lesson Title and the Base Language (which you can change from here).

When you're ready to respond, either type the sentence or click the microphone icon to record.
Tip: When recording your response, your speech will be transcribed into text. Feel free to edit the text if certain words aren't transcribed correctly. - The ImmerseMe AI will respond based on your input and the free-flowing conversation will continue.
Tip: Responding in the target language is recommended when using the Conversation mode to practise your conversation skills with the native speaker. If you respond in English, for example, the ImmerseMe AI will guide you to respond in the target language! 👍
- The ImmerseMe AI would ask prompts based on the lesson objective. When the lesson objective is met, the conversation ends and the lesson is now completed!
Note: Although we have strict content safety and moderation features in place, we can't directly control the generative AI responses. So we would appreciate any feedback (+/-) while we navigate this exciting developmental technology!
