Use these tips to create tasks that are clear, engaging and effective.
Tasks can include lessons, vocabulary activities and custom content. You can target the right content to the right students at the right level.
Follow these steps:
- Set task details - Add a title, start date, due date and course credit.
- Select learning content - Pick lessons or custom content.
- Set modes & rules - Choose the learning modes and customize specific settings.
- Assign learners - Assign to a class or individual students.
- Review & publish - Check everything and publish your task.
- Preview task - View the task as a student.
1. Set task details
Go to Tasks and click Create Task.
Enter task details, schedule and grading settings:
- Task title and optional description
- Start and end date & time
- Course credit
2. Select learning content
Pick the language, units, lessons and content students will work on.
- Lessons by unit, topic, or level
- Custom layouts (if available)
3. Set modes & rules
Choose the learning modes and set rules for completing the task.
Learning modes:
- Speaking: Speak, Translate
- Writing: Type, Spell
- Quiz: Match
Task rules:
- Allow auto-fill
- Access to base translations
- Show class scoreboard
4. Assign learners
Select classes or students to assign the task.
- Entire class
- Individual students
5. Review & publish
Check all details, then assign the task to your students.
- Students will find the task under Tasks.
- You can edit or duplicate tasks anytime.
6. Preview task
View the task from the student's perspective.
- Go to Actions on the top right and click Preview as student.
- Voilà ! Your task is all set!
